MODA - UK

MODA UK Birmingham

The February 2012 edition of Moda saw buyers and brands in a positive mood during three days of strong trading at the UK’s largest trade fashion exhibition. Showcasing over 1,450 collections and including over 200 brands making a first time appearance. The event attracted buyers from across the department stores and independent sectors, with attendance reaching the same level as that seen at Moda’s busiest ever show in February last year.

Brands making a first time appearance at Moda reported keen retailer interest in new products.

Many of the show’s new menswear arrivals showed in Moda’s Select zone, an area dedicated to urban and contemporary menswear and footwear located between the Moda Menswear and Moda Footwear halls.

A buoyant mood was also felt at the Moda Lingerie & Swimwear hall.

Nick Cook, commercial director of Moda organiser ITE Moda Ltd, comments; “The positive atmosphere at this season’s show and the fact that attendance reached the same level as our busiest ever show was a clear indication of the continued strength of our industry and of the Moda show. It also underlined that it’s never been more important for buyers to source new and innovative brands.”

The next edition of Moda will take place from 12-14 August at the NEC Birmingham and is expected to attract an even greater number of first time exhibitors, including a large number of brands looking to show outside of London during the extended period of disruption set to be caused by the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
