BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK 2015

Barcelona Bridal Week brought down the curtain on its 25th edition. This is a particularly emblematic show in the event's history and the most international ever.

With the USA as guest country and Katharine Polk of Houghton Bride as the first ‘special guest designer'. No fewer than 60% of visitors were from abroad as well as the 200 VIP buyers invited by the show's organizers. Everyone came to watch the 23 firms who presented their 2016 collections on the catwalk and to discover the products of the more than 230 brands that exhibited at the trade fair, half of which came from some 15 countries.

The Catalan event once again transformed itself into an international hub for buyers, distributors, entrepreneurs and the media from all over the world, further underlining its global status thanks to the success of the companies in this sector, one of the most international industries in the Spanish economy which last year accounted for exports in excess of 876.9 million euros (22.4% more than the previous year).

Some 60% of the trade professionals who visited the show were from abroad, primarily Italy, France, Germany, the USA, Portugal, Russia and Brazil. Around 200 major international buyers also attended the event – almost four times as many as in 2014 – invited directly by Barcelona Bridal Week through its Special Guest Program, mainly from the USA, Italy, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Germany.

The show's offering was one of the most comprehensive of recent years: the trade fair took over Hall 2 of the Gran Via Exhibition Centre, showing over 12,000 bridal dresses and around 3,000 party outfits presented by 230 brands, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year, half of which came from the USA, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, South Korea, the UK, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Denmark.
